Objectives of subsidisation
The objectives of the subsidisation of young farmers’ installation and of farm modernisation have been defined as follows:
Installation of young farmers:- to facilitate the setting up of young farmers with special consideration of their qualification
Farm modernisation:
Innovation:
- to enhance and convert production
- to develop and apply new methods, technologies and products;
Competitiveness:
- to improve the overall performance of farms;
- to improve farmers’ incomes;
- to reduce production costs;
- to enhance horizontal cooperation;
- to rationalise and improve the efficiency of production processes;
- to contribute to the modernisation and to increase the profitability of agricultural holdings;
- to make better use of by-products;
- to promote the diversification of farm activities, esp. direct marketing, skilled manual work.
Environment and resource efficiency:
- to improve the environmental impacts of production, to reduce the use of resources, to curb
emissions;
- to use natural resources in an efficient manner;
- to reduce waste.
Food safety, hygiene and quality:
- to improve and ensure adequate hygiene conditions;
- to enhance quality and quality assurance.
Jobs, working conditions, animal welfare:
- to improve the conditions of life for farm families;
- to secure and create jobs;
- to improve safety at work as well as production and working conditions;
- to ensure and enhance the protection of animals and animal welfare.
